Tasting Notes

The Italian Flavor Collection offers three distinct expressions of Southern Italian olive oil.

Dell'Orto Classic opens with fresh green aromas of artichoke heart and crushed olive leaf. A measured bitterness follows, signaling freshness and quality, before giving way to a clean, lightly peppery finish.

Dell'Orto Limonolio introduces bright notes of lemon zest and fresh citrus, balanced by the rounded richness of extra virgin olive oil. The finish is smooth, fragrant, and vibrant.

Dell'Orto Piccantolio delivers aromas of fresh chili pepper and Mediterranean herbs. Gentle warmth builds gradually on the palate, complementing rather than overwhelming the character of the olive oil, before finishing with a balanced, lingering heat.

Together, they provide versatility for every occasion: the balanced foundation of everyday Italian cooking, the brightness of fresh citrus, and the warmth of Italian chili peppers. Three complementary flavor profiles designed to elevate everything from grilled meats and seafood to vegetables, pasta, pizza, and fresh bread.

Olive Varietals

At the heart of this collection is the same estate-grown extra virgin olive oil produced by our family in Oliveto Citra, Italy.

The olive blend features Frantoio, Leccino, and the rare local Carpellese varietal. Frantoio contributes freshness, structure, and clean green character. Leccino brings balance and softness, while Carpellese adds herbal complexity and a gentle peppery finish.

Dell'Orto Classic showcases this blend in its purest form, delivering the balanced flavor profile that has become the foundation of our estate's olive oils.

For Limonolio, these same olives are cold pressed together with real Amalfi Coast lemons through a traditional combined milling process. This allows the natural citrus oils to integrate directly with the olive oil, creating a bright, balanced flavor that cannot be replicated through artificial flavoring.

For Piccantolio, our extra virgin olive oil is infused with Italian chili peppers, adding a gentle warmth that enhances the character of the oil while preserving its balance and versatility.

The result is a collection that showcases three distinctly Italian flavor experiences: the everyday versatility of exceptional extra virgin olive oil, the brightness of Amalfi Coast lemons, and the warmth of Italian chili peppers.

How to Use It

The Italian Flavor Collection is designed to bring versatility, balance, and bold flavor to everyday cooking.

Use Dell'Orto Classic as your everyday olive oil for sautéing, roasting, finishing pasta, dressing vegetables, and serving alongside fresh bread. It is the bottle you'll reach for daily.

When a dish calls for brightness, finish with Dell'Orto Limonolio. Drizzle over grilled fish, shrimp, scallops, roasted vegetables, salads, chicken, fresh cheeses, and simple pasta dishes. A small pour just before serving adds freshness, definition, and aromatic lift.

When a dish benefits from warmth and depth, reach for Dell'Orto Piccantolio. Drizzle over pizza, grilled meats, roasted potatoes, eggs, pasta, sandwiches, and vegetables. Its gentle heat enhances flavor without overpowering the dish.

Together, these three oils give you the flexibility to match the right flavor to the right meal—whether you're looking for the balanced versatility of classic extra virgin olive oil, the brightness of fresh citrus, or the warmth of Italian chili peppers.

Our Story

Dell'Orto has been producing olive oil in Oliveto Citra, Campania since 1870. Polidoro and Sergio Dell'Orto are the fourth generation to tend these groves — groves that include trees planted by their great-grandfather Vito, who founded the mill nearly 155 years ago.

From hand-operated winches to today's continuous-cycle cold-extraction system, the technology has evolved constantly. The commitment to quality never has.
